Frequently Asked Questions
What does 'non-green label' mean for the Contax G1?
The 'green label' G1s were later revisions capable of using the 21mm and 35mm lenses. This 'non-green label' version is compatible with the included 28mm, 45mm, and 90mm lenses.
How does the Contax G1’s autofocus system work?
The G1 combines the precision of a rangefinder with the convenience of autofocus. It uses an active infrared AF system, providing fast and accurate focusing for its dedicated G lenses.
Can I use other Contax G lenses with this camera?
This specific Contax G1 (non-green label) is fully compatible with the 28mm, 45mm, and 90mm lenses included in this kit. It does not support the 21mm and 35mm G lenses.
What is the function of the GD-1 Databack?
The GD-1 Databack allows you to imprint date and time information directly onto your film. This feature adds a useful chronological record to your photographs, enhancing archival and organizational efforts.
Will the dust in the lenses affect my images?
The age-appropriate dust and the few larger particles described are located in positions that do not affect image quality. Our tests confirm no visible impact on your photographs.
